-The process started by taking the picture. I had my sister take it in from of my house. I wanted it to be centered around my face just like chuck close did. Next I formatted the picture according to Blevins instructions. Next I gridded my canvas 1inch by 1inch boxes. The next step was to start drawing out my face. After I had everything planned out. I chose my colors and made a color palette which helped me throughout the project. Finally I began painting, I didn't want to jump around all of my canvas because I was afraid I was going to mess up or paint wrong. So I started in the bottom left and went up a row at a time. I would first fill in 30-50 boxes with base colors then I would go over with one or two new colors and made dashes over each box. I really liked that style. I did this until my whole face was filled. Next was the background. I decided not to do on standard color for the whole thing. I painted the top black for about 5 rows and then made a dripping design. I then did the same thing with 3 shades of grey. After the last grey I painted the bottom in white, giving it a nice gradient look.
-My style was a solid base color with one or two different colors streaked over it, looks like dashes.
-My craftsman ship is very decent, the overall look of my painting looks very good. When you look closer and evaluate more, you can see some smaller mistakes that I made. Not quite filling in each box to it's edge or accidentally painting too much and into other squares. But I'm proud of the quality of my work, it is one of my cleanest paintings.
-Everything about my painting is consistent, no colors are obscure and the style never changed. It is calm to look at. The piece shows great unity.
